Supporting you + your family through rehabilitation

Our New ROADS program will support you and your family on the path to recovery. It involves counselling, and we can link you with other services and groups in your community.

Program Overview

We will work with you as you develop goals for recovery. Staff can help you find ways to help you commit to these and achieve them.

You can refer yourself to our services, or this can be done by a family member, case worker or other service.

We can speak with you about:

  • your health, family and relationship needs

  • practical support for making changes in your life

  • your housing needs

  • ways to deal with issues that can make drug or alcohol use worse.

Rehabilitating in our shared houses

In this program, you live in a shared house as you work on your treatment plan. This involves weekly counselling sessions on your own and in a group. The program is based on a five-month stay, but this is flexible.

There is no wait list or a need to phone in. If the residential program is full, we can offer group support and counselling until a place becomes available.

This program is for people aged 21 and over.

Most people start a detox program beforehand, but this isn’t always necessary.

The residential program is available in metropolitan Adelaide, Mt Gambier, Whyalla and the Riverland.

Home detox and day program

If you are in the Limestone Coast area, you can access detox services while you stay in your home. You will receive medical and therapeutic support from GPs, nurses and counsellors.

You can also choose to do a day program known as ‘Continuum of Care’. Treatment involves group and individual counselling, and is tailored to best suit what you need.

Counselling

Counselling is an important part of all of our programs.

Even if you’re not part of one of our rehabilitation programs, you can attend counselling. You can come to counselling sessions on your own or join a group. These can help you to understand and change your use of alcohol and other drugs.

Our New ROADS counsellors will provide practical support and advice on changing your use of alcohol or other drugs.

Working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

If you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, we will support you in a way that respects your culture and beliefs.

We have strong links with other agencies in SA. We work closely with Aboriginal Community Connect, our sister service at Uniting Communities.

Connect to other services

Our services are flexible and personalised to meet your needs. In addition to our range of programs, we offer high-level assistance to connect you with other health, community and social services. We can also provide support to your family members affected by substance dependency.
